If you can’t look yourself in the mirror each day and say “I’m happy” then there are things to be fixed and worked on. First stop looking for perfect it doesn’t exist. Who cares what society and everyone else thinks about yo. If you’re happy continue to do what makes you happy. If buying a Happy Meal makes you happy then by all means continue to buy Happy Meals for the rest of your life or until McDonald’s goes out of business..whichever comes first.
Please realize that everyone has their own definition of happiness and what makes them happy. For instance my definition of “happy” doesn’t mean perfect, I mean I find happiness in my decisions, life goals, simple things, seeing others happy and most importantly self happiness. My definition would be the happiness I control because it’s my life. You are the author of your own autobiography don’t let anyone dictate it for you! You can’t worry about things that are out of your reach. You can’t worry about people’s opinions. Most importantly you can’t worry about society’s expectation of you. Society entails many different opinions, judgments, etc. You can’t please everyone.
Everyone deserves happiness and to me happiness comes from finding yourself..finding yourself in your mistakes, in your flaws, in everything that makes you YOU. You can’t find yourself in society. You especially can’t find happiness in what society expects of you. Live life for you and no one else. If you try to live for society or for what others want you to be you will never find happiness within yourself. You’ll find yourself constantly trying to keep up to what others want you to be. You’ll lose yourself trying to please others instead of doing things that are appealing to you.
Remember the happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts. If you limit your abilities to what others/society says you can and can not do, how happy will you be? Stop waiting for things to happen and go out and make them happen. Don’t live in the foot steps of others and don’t be afraid to go outside of the boundaries society sets. When you make the most of the things that you enjoy, you’ll find yourself in the midst of happiness.
Happiness isn’t just a smile it’s being at peace with things that go wrong and understanding that life goes on. You should be in love with your life! Being in love means you’re happy.
Start writing your autobiography of happiness and love. Start writing about how you bended the rules of society and how you did what made you happy. Don’t keep out your mistakes, instead embrace them. Start writing now and don’t let anyone write it for you!
